The National Park of Ahaggar was created in 1987 to protect the richness about geologic and archeologic resource as well as his incredible flora and fauna of these sandstone massif and plateau (tassili). The protected area covers 90 per 100 of the vast district of Tamanrasset (450 000 kilometers square) in the southern Sahara desert in Algeria. The park streches to Mali border to the southwest and Niger border to the southeast. Its included the areas of Hoggar mountain, Tassili-n-Ahhagar, Tefedest and Amadror region, Tassili Ahnet, Immidir, Tin Missaou and Tin-Rehroh and the petrified wood area of In-Salah.
