Estrechos del Balced (Spain)

Estrechos del Balced is the downstream continuation of the Oscuros del Balced on the lower Canyon del Balced. From the exit of the "oscuros", you have just to walk 1km or so downstream on the open canyon to connect you with this long and austere 7km long aquatic slot percied on the conglomerate formation. This is a four hours hike, wade or swim between two narrow walls to the road bridge of Alberuela de Lalinea. It can be considers anxious for some due the longer of the slot. On this section a rope is not necessery (maximum 1.5 meters rock step). Also, visitors can enters on this canyon by one of the dozen adjacent slot canyons which drains from each hill side of the Rio Isuala (like Barranco Cueva Cabrito (the best access), Barranco Pallas, or Barranco Las Brujas. An exit option consist to come back by up climbing the slot called Barranco Vina which requiers challenge and full energy to chimney up short projection. All of these side slot exits into the Estrechos of the lower Balced Canyon. It is easy to link two canyons and even more on the same day for more adventures. Most of the "estrechos" looks just like the two photo below.
