FR-254. This attractive natural arch is located on Gorges du Val de Fier near the village of Seyssel in Haute-Savoie department of France. The opening overhanging the Fier river has an estimated span of 17 meters. It was a climbing site. A commemorative plate was fixed below the arch informed that a climber die here in june 2006. The site around the arch is now closed to public since 2008 probably acted by frequent rockfall which occurs in the area. Vestige of an ancestral "Via Romana" can be observed at the base of the cliff below and around the arch. In april 1999, the author climbed to the arch but he was unable to measure the span with a steel tape due to the vertical steepness under the opening.IGN topographic map top 25 number 3311 west Rumilly pleat A5.
