This arch is located on the same area that
La Tour Percee on Chartreuse massif in Isere county of France. This arch first reported by
Pascal Sombardier has 25 meters span. Access to the arch is very limited and can be climbed only by people able to follow bighorn tracks on the terraces. A 30 meters rope is recommended for the trip. In the photo taken from a risky vantage point, note the rapeller with red tee-short (Sombardier's friend) through the opening for scale. Directions : From La Tour Percée, climb down the way you came and return to the bas of the cliff. From there, continue to hike northeast along the cliff bottom for 10 minutes to find another notch. Chimney up this gully to the arch on the left above you. The last 10 meters before the arch are very steep.
