From Fruita and the visitor center in Capitol Reef National Park, drive the road called The Scenic Drive toward Capitol Gorge entrance. From there, continue south on the unpaved road to the Sleeping Rainbow Ranch and Pleasant Creek. Cross Pleasant Creek (creek ford sometime unpassable)and drive or hike this dirty road 6 miles to the park boundary and Tantalus Flats. Once here walk down the road toward the massive sandstone fins visible to the west. Skyline Window is located atop the rock mass.
