Lower Trinity Arch

This double arch is located up on the cliff of the upper Muley Twist Canyon, approximately 2.5 mile down stream bed from Saddle Arch .

Story from SPAN : The Newsletter of the Natural Arch and Bridge Society (July 1999). During the second visit to Capitol Reef National Park in October 1996 by the author and his good friend Alexandre Oulevey, we wanted to see Upper Muley Twist Canyon with its outstanding parade of natural arches. The author was particulary fascinated by Trinity Double Arch. This attractive arch up on the cliff has an irresistible charm : so close, but so inaccessible up there -an evident challenge for an arch hunter. Thanks to the author's ability with rock climbing, he was able to use a vertical crack along the cliff wall to climb up to this wonder. This is a difficult climb which must be reserved for experienced rock climbers. Also, it is necessary to have a minimum of 5O meters (150 feet) of rope for repelling down out of the arch. The time spent inside the majestic double opening was very enjoyable, leaving a memory of an intense moment and unrivaled experience. Ah! Les merveilles de l'Utah!
