La Porte de Roques-Altes (FR 19)

How to reach : From "Le Rozier" (main street), cross "Jonte river" bridge and drive up road D29 for 6.3km ( 5.3km for the turn to Le Pont des Arcs) and turn right on road D11O toward Montpellier-le-Vieux Park. Drive road D11O for O.4OO meters and go straight at sign "La Roque Ste Marguerite". Drive down this little narrow road for 1.6km and turn left on a 4wd road. Park there and hike up the road following the red ans white marks (part of the long distance footpath GR 62) to the disued sheepfold of Roques-Altes (45 minutes). From there, hike 100 meters to the imposing towers and found the nice arch behind the castle rock to the right on the meadow. The castle rock of Roques-Altes and the GR 62 traversing are both located on the IGN topographic map 1/25OOO "Millau" 2641 west (pleat B5).
