Les Arches des Travers (Gard)

This arch and the next are located on the side of Ceze River on the Gard county of France. IGN topographic map 2940 west "Bagnols-sur-Ceze" pleat A2. The arch has a span about 10 meters. Les Arches des Travers I. How to reach : From "Mejannes-le-clap", take unnumbered road at sign "Plage du Roy" (Roy Beach) and drive 5.900 km to the Ceze River and park. The last 1.200 meters of the road is unpaved. You can park at the end of the paved road and hike down this bad section. You can spot these arches either from the last curve of the road or from the shingly beach 100 meters downstream. Once you have located your target, walk 200 meters up stream to the ford and cross the Ceze River to the other side (may to september). Then walk on the path some distance along the river side (downstream) to the spring (water catchment). From there, continue 250 meters on the path and climb up the slope to the arch and the cave well-hidden. To reach the arch and the cave a bushwacking is required through heavy bush.

Les Arches des Travers II. From where you leave the path to climb to Les Arches des Travers I, continue this path some distance to the junction with a 4 wheel drive road. Leave the path there and climb the slope to the arch very well-hidden. To reach the arch a bushwhacking is required through heavy brush.
