Coiserette Natural Bridge
Coiserette Bridge is a meander bridge located in Coiserette Canyon near the town of St Claude in Mt Jura France. The canyon is one of my favourite spot for its aquatic narrows between limestone walls (sometimes 1/2 meter wide), in typical Jura mosscovered forest surroundings.
Tre-La-Tete Bridge
Tre-La-Tete Bridge is located in Tre-La-Tete Canyon in the Mont-Blanc region near the St Gervais ski area in France. This canyon is at a high altitude and presents hardcore difficulties due to a strong glacial flow all year round, fed by a glacier basin. In the winter of 2000 (winter is the best time to descend the canyon), the author found every cascade under a matrix of ice and the canyon impassable to rappelling. Fortunately, the meander bridge located at the canyon exit can be easily visited from a rim trail.
Chailles Bridge
Chailles Bridge is a very old pothole bridge (the biggest that the author has ever seen in a canyon) located inside Gorges de Chailles near the town of Pont de Beauvoisin in Isere-Savoie Counties, France. To visit the bridge you have to descend this Dante's canyon by the big Guiers River and to swim most of the time (nearly 1 kilometer) in deep water. The major difficulty is to rope down a dangerous 10-meter waterfall just before the bridge. A very impressive spot!
